!! We Won !! Cultural Documents and sponsor IFSWW have won the award for the International category of the Arts and Business Scotland 30th Annual Awards !! The ‘Best International’ award recognises a partnership that has supported the cultural organisation’s international activities or that has leveraged international support for the cultural activities of an organisation within Scotland.
The award is in recognition of a great partnership between a business and a culture company: in our case, since 2013, IFSWW has sponsored Cultural Documents by providing freight services between Scotland and Italy, enabling the first sustained international cultural exchange between Scotland and another country.
This has enabled Cultural Documents to commission artists and writers to undertake research in Italy for sustained periods of up to three years. The residencies and exhibitions which Lauren Wells, Danny Holcroft, Diane Pacitti, Nina Bacos, Valentina Bonizzi and Elaine Shemilt have undertaken have all been enabled by many shipments of materials, objects and artworks which the IFSWW team has carefully handled for us.
Congratulations to our fellow-nominees Wasps Studios; Sabhal Mòr Ostaig National Centre for Gaelic Language, Culture and the Arts; Prince’s School of Traditional Arts (PSTA); Alterledger; The Crannog Concept Ltd and Speyside Distillery (SPEY Whisky).
