Research method

As part of our production process, Cultural Documents (CD) carries out research in three ways: on our own, by commissioning research undertaken by others, and by carrying out research in collaboration with others.

We call this method progressive focusing, as it permits issues to emerge and come into focus gradually.

It also enables us to guard against presumption, and to have time to interact with the multiple and varied viewpoints throughout the process.

By becoming well acquainted with any situation before starting production, we remain open-minded and able to respond to what emerges during research, in turn, considering how to elaborate what’s found in relation to the people we aim to have a dialogue with.
