Exhibition opening – Casa Carlo Goldoni, San Polo 2793, Venice.
The exhibition ‘Federica Marangoni and Elaine Shemilt. Parallel Dialogues Through Video and Time’ features a selection of rare, historical video artworks and prints by the two European video pioneers Federica Marangoni and Elaine Shemilt.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Dott.ssa Chiara Squarcina, Director of the Museum Casa Goldoni and artists Elaine Shemilt and Federica Marangoni; it starts its international tour from Casa Goldoni, Venice and will travel to Threshold artspace in Perth Scotland in 2020.
It is curated by Laura Leuzzi and Iliyana Nedkova with Adam Lockhart.
The exhibition has been made possible through the support of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design at University of Dundee, Threshold artspace at Horsecross Arts, Cultural Documents, IFS Worldwide, The Culture and Business Fund Scotland, Paolo Luca and Samsung.
The exhibition opening follows its counterpart book-launch ‘EWVA | European Women’s Video Art in the 70s and 80s’. Please see Book launch – Museo Correr, Piazza San Marco 52, Venice, at midday on 5 September 2019.
La mostra Itinerante Federica Marangoni and Elaine Shemilt. Parallel Dialogues Through Video and Time, inizierá il suo tour a Venezia e continuerà in Scozia durante il 2020, al Museo di Perth e alla Galleria d’Arte Contemporanea Threshold Artspace.
La mostra presenterà una selezione di storiche opere video e stampe dalle performances, delle due pioniere della videoarte europea Federica Marangoni e Elaine Shemilt, a cura di Laura Leuzzi e Iliyana Nedkova.
