Come along to take part in a lively discussion woven between both Gaelic and English languages: the event will be introduced by Bernadette O’Rourke and Wilson McLeod who will present new research into how and why people choose to learn the Gaelic language, followed by audience feedback and stories about learning Gaelic in Scotland today. The famous Rockfield tea and cake will be served!

Drop in to to The Rockfield Centre in Oban to see two new short films which tell stories about the unseen aspects of learning languages, and the anxieties, emotions and challenges involved in being a Gaelic speaker in Scotland today:
‘Finding Gaelic’ is part of The New Speaker Studio, and is organised in partnership with Bernadette O’Rourke (Heriot Watt University), Wilson McLeod (Edinburgh University) and the COST New Speakers’ Network. It is part of the Languages Lost and Found programme within the Being Human Festival, and also The Oban Winter Festival.
