Public talk – The Particular in the Universal

TalkSee Photography is delighted to announce an impromptu panel/discussion event initiated by Dr Alasdair Foster, former Director of Fotofeis (1991-98), director of the Australian Centre for Photography (1998–2011) and currently Leverhulme Visiting Professor at University of Dundee. The central focus of Alasdair’s research is participatory culture: the culture of the community is shared. by citizens in an ongoing dialogue. Nowhere is this cultural production more visible than in how we engage with photography.

To discuss this aspect of cultural production we’ve invited a panel which will discuss this with Alasdair and the audience:

Zoë Guthrie (SPIT Collective),
Tiffany Boyle and
Francis Dosoo (Rhytm Machine).

The event will be moderated by Deirdre MacKenna.

As usual the discussions take a point of departure in the panel members practices. The form of the discussions will be slightly different than usual and questions or comments from the audience are invited from the start.
